Qt Creator and other tools

Hi and welcome From version Qt 5.6+ webkit* is not included in pre compiled packets. (as far as i know) So your students might have used 5.5 or simply compiled it. Also as a note. It takes less time to install ubuntu +Qt in a virtual machine than to compile webkits. its a full stack and pretty heavy. :)

I tried your suggestion and more. I also removed qt creator completely and deleted the related files I found in the .config and the .local directory. I pulled the source files into a fresh directory and tested it with both QtCreator versions. Error stays the same. Unless I have missed a file when I removed qtcreator, it might be system related. I ll try it again in gnome. Currently I am using the kde plasma desktop and it caused several non related issues before. Maybe there is another one. If you have any other idea, let me know! Is there the possibility to configure qtcreator where to search for header files? Maybe I can solve my problem this way if anything else fails.

@jsulm Thank you, I came to know that the checking and unchecking the checkboxes against the plugins will initialse the plugins in the IDE Qt-creator. It's resolved. Thanking you once again.

Ok, as I explained...I tried the individual suggestions one at a time. But what I did not do is mentally connect several that wound up being the solution: As to qmake; quite often qmake emits console messages in the Application Output tab when there are syntax error unliike the ones I mentioned. In this case I was thinking that it should be possible for qmake to determine a problem with errors in the LIBS line just the same. Evidently not. Ok, if qmake is the same on Linux as Windows then it has to be the GCC g++ compiler or linker that is so different. Something is different because they certainly do not produce the same indications with the same code. In any event I can now proceed and it is thanks to all of you.

2016 now and almost all IDE and editors have 1 symbol auto-complete option, and Qt Creator still haven't?

@SGaist I found the solution for it. If it is unable to find the platform implies that the problem with the Qmake path missing in the environment. For that we have to set the path.
