Another thing I noticed: You are using signals&slots together with sleeping functions. That is wrong - stop doing it, you putting yourself into trouble.

Hi, From a quick search I stumbled on QTIFW-783 which is not directly related to your problem but where the user modified the TEMP environment variable to point somewhere else. Might be worth trying, just don't do it system wide but in the console where you start the installer. Hope it helps

Hi and welcome to devnet, From the looks of it, it's currently rather that you are not linking against the Qt core, widgets and network modules which are needed following the missing symbol list.

@VRonin as @SGaist mentioned the configuration system is open source, so you may want to take a look at this blog entry along with this QtWS17 presentation from the same person.

Hi and welcome to devnet, Yes Looks good That's the role of the input plugins You need to give more information about your system You can check the QtWayland module for example, and generally speaking the QPA modules.

It may be that nobody checks if Creator is still compatible with Qt4, but I can successfully work with Creator 4.7, Qt 4.8.2 and MSVC 2010 SP1, including debugging. The Qt version was not self compiled, it was an official release. Regards

Use the official git repos or archives: https://download.qt.io/official_releases/qt/5.11/5.11.1/single/ There is no need to run syncqt.pl on them, just configure and then make / make install. However, there is no need to go through all the trouble of compiling yourself. Just use the Qt installer https://www.qt.io/download-qt-installer

@BzowK I don't know if this helps/can be applied to your situation, but FWIW I stuck to the Qt distributed with my distro (Ubuntu 17.10). That is 5.7, and I think not 5.7.1. I fetch all packages (compiled) from repos, have never compiled anything Qt, and have not experienced any version incompatibilities anywhere. When I migrate to Ubuntu 18.04 I will do the same, with whatever Qt version it supplies. So far as I can see, I got everything (non-Python) Qt via sudo apt-get install qt5-default​. Then all I had to add was sudo ​apt-get install libqt5sql5-mysql​ for the MySQL support I wanted. Of course, I don't know about your Synergy, you may be saying it requires a later version....

I've reported the same in https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-69512 and it contains a patch. It's a compiler bug fixed in GCC 5 apparently.
