I just wanted to close out this thread by saying that Qt Creator 2.8 has clearly fixed the issue for me. I'm now back to the happy days of compiling and debugging inside of Creator.

Ok, so I just managed to fix it. I uninstalled everything related to Qt in "apt-get", delete all the configuration related to it in .conf (Nokia.conf, Trolltech.conf, Qt.conf QtCreator folder, etc) and installed the new Qt 5.1.1 bundle.

It's an issues with the DLL. The you need to report the problem on the interest mailing list, you'll find Qt's developer/maintainers there (this forum is more user oriented)

Hi, This is still the same forum. When SGaist said "Interest mailing list", he meant this: http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/interest You'll need to subscribe to the list, then ask your question in an email. When you post your question, make sure you include: OS version How you installed Qt Qt Creator version

Hi and welcome to devnet, Glad you found out ! When playing with variables like QMAKE_LINK (which generally you don't need to) adding something to it should rather be @QMAKE_LINK += whatever_you_need@ or @QMAKE_LINK *= whatever_you_need@ Otherwise (as you found out) you replace the current content of the variable Hope it helps
have you seen this "Doxygen helper?":http://www.stack.nl/~dimitri/doxygen/helpers.html#doxfilt_qml
Yes I am aware of it. As for other comments: yes, qdoc is not intended for external use, it has no stable API, is not guaranteed to work the same in the future, etc. In general, it does work quite well, though. If you miss some documentation, you can check it in docs of doxygen - there is a big overlap (after all, doxygen was created for Qt). Just to reiterate: I do recommend using doxygen.

Hi, AFAIK, Qt Creator can be built against both Qt 4.8 and Qt 5.1. Their unit tests have covered both versions for many months now. I'm not sure what's causing your issue. Could you use the precompiled version?

Thank you for your informative reply. I agree that it takes an experienced Qt developer familiar with a particular Qt project maybe 3 seconds to configure. For developers new to a project or developers not necessarily experienced with Qt Creator it confuses them and takes much longer than 3 seconds to learn how to configure a project. While I think kits are great, especially for cross platform development, I prefer the pre-kit behavior of opening a Qt project or a method of automatically selecting a default kit configuration. I may submit a feature request for something like this. Thanks again, -Ed

I don't think you have any special configuration required just run cppcheck on your project source files.
