Qt mingw and boost libraries

  • Hi all,

I've been using the MSVC Qt and compiled boost myself and it worked well. For various reasons I want to get the same workflow in mingw.

Does any know of s tried and tested way/ command line to build boost so it works with Qt mingw?

I am running a 64 bit machine and mingw compiles 32bit code and expects 32bit libraries from boost. I set the address model in the b2 command but to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Do I understand you correctly: you want to build 64bit binaries? Is your MinGW Qt 64bit?

  • Hi,

Nope. I want to build 32bit boost libraries using the mingw bundled with Qt 5.6. I'm running on a 64bit windows machine.

I got the libraries to compile and link into my executable. But it crashes on startup and all my directories are in the path. So lead to believe that ice compiled 64 bit libraries and trying to run my 32 bit Qt programme. Hope that made sense

Did you try to run your application through debugger to see why it crashes?
    Any error messages?
