uart communication between raspberry and arduino

Hello.
I try to established a communication between raspberry pi 3 and arduino uno via UART, using gpio8 and gpio10 pinout, but doesn't work.
It's necessarily to config enable pin for uart, and how I can do this? (On rpi it's b2qt os).
