Qt Creator and other tools

cazador, I can confirm this. It only wasn't too annoying for me to fill a bugreport. I'm sure the creator guys would appreciate a report on the "bug tracker": http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com.

Yes... I asked about that on another thread and got a less "definitive" answer... it doesn't seem that will be on 2.1 ...

I also have installed many versions of Creator: the packages from Debian, the Nokia Qt SDK and the 2.1 RC of Creator. All use different prefixes, so it's not a problem.

If I were you, though, i would uninstall the old one if you don't need it.

Currently (version 2.1), there is no support for that. But 2.2 will have it, including the ability to optionally upload the generated files to the auto builder.

Obviously, Creator needs to support Meego at some point, and I think it's mostly a question of when the low-level packaging tools are ready. OBS is certainly a topic that belongs into this realm.[/quote]

I imagine that at this time in the game meego is probably a much higher priority than maemo... Not that I won't be glad to have the integration with maemo...

No problem, you're welcome. Maybe you can make a small wiki article, once you have it working. I guess, this question will pop up once in a while...

Well there is a plan to have this in QtMobility in the future. They announced this when QtMobility 1.1 was released. But it is not yet scheduled in the roadmap. It might not make it in to QtMobility 1.2.

So you may have to use some third party library.

They shouldn't be in the offline doc, but the Google Analytics code was included in a beta/snapshot of Qt Creator offline documentation earlier. I have to segment some data out of my web statistics due to the "fake" pings it generates. I was told it got fixed for Qt Creator - but you are using the VS integration - I'll have to check.

As to why we collect stats on our websites? In the end it's to make better Qt websites for everyone. Not a day goes by without someone wondering if their page got a better bounce/exit rate after some changes, how much the traffic from China went up the last week, is IE6 dead yet, what are people searching for etc. If you want to know more please consult our "privacy policy":http://qt.nokia.com/about/privacy-policy.

I think I had the same issue but this was a while ago now. I had NokiaQtSDK and I updated to Qt4.7.1 Symbian and then Qt-Creator 2.1 beta 2. The Run option was greyed out so I could only Run on Symbian device. However, if I launched the Symbian Command Prompt, I could use qmlviewer from there.

Upon installing Qt4.7.1 for Windows, the Run option worked again.

calberto: Qt Creator does not create separate build directories per configuration (yet:-).

Debug and release are actually created by qmake based on the CONFIG used to build.

You can install the framework on you development server and just copy the binaries - and the needed libs/DLLs - to your server.
