How can I make a static build of Qt's libraries available to Creator?

  • I've installed Creator and Qt 5.6 using the online installer tool, and I have downloaded the Qt sources and built the libraries for static linking.

Could anyone tell me how I make the static libraries available to Creator, and how I configure my project to link with both them and the static MSVC run-time library?

The explanations and guides I find all show how to build Qt, but never talk about how to use all of it with Creator.

  • You'd add a new Qt Version in the Build and Run settings by selecting the qmake of your build, and create a new kit or modify an existing kit to use that Qt version.

    Hi and welcome to devnet,

It's explained in Qt Creator's manual here

  • I'll try that, thanks for the help.
