    I receive this error when trying to compile Qt 5.5.0 from source on xubuntu-14.04.2 i386. This is what I use to replicate:

    ./configure -static -prefix /my/folder/location -plugin-sql-sqlite -no-compile-examples -continue -nomake examples

    There is already a related bug on the tracker bug-46839, but not sure mine is a bug or just incorrect environment setup.

      Hi,

      Following this bug report and the one mentioned in comment, you should rather build 5.5.1 as it's the version announced as fixing it.

          Since the patch has already been integrated you can also build from the current 5.5 branch from git
