Qt virtual keyboard for embedded linuxfb backend

I am running qtvirtualkeyboard example on yocto linux OS, which is using linuxfb gui back-end , but I am unable to get the keystrokes on touching the text fields. I changed the gui back-end from linuxfb to x11, Then I am able to get the keystrokes.
Qtvirtualkeyboard does not support linuxfb backend ? Or any other dependency is required
Qt version : 5.11
Yocto version : Thud
