it is about the drawContents method of QTextDocument.
There is a second parameter that you need to add in order to see the background image in your document.
It's the a QRectF object that represend the size of the rect that the background image will be clipped into.

void QTextDocument::drawContents(QPainter *p, const QRectF &rect = QRectF())
Draws the content of the document with painter p, clipped to rect. If rect is a null rectangle (default) then the document is painted unclipped.

So what I did is:

easuresDoc.drawContents(&painter, pdfPrinter.paperRect()); // We print TextDocument of the Measures into the document pdfPrinter.newPage(); // We inject the current page and continue printing on new page averagesDoc.drawContents(&painter, pdfPrinter.paperRect()); // We print the TextDocument of the Averages into the document pdfPrinter.newPage(); // We inject the current page and continue printing on new page inOutDoc.drawContents(&painter, pdfPrinter.paperRect()); // We print the TextDocument of the Inputs/Outputs into the document

pdfPrinter.paperRect is the rectangle of the page without the margin.

Also if you want the background image to be printed scaled with no repeat than you need to put the printer into QPrinter::PrinterResolution

QPrinter pdfPrinter(QPrinter::PrinterResolution);

This program does not work because you missed the part on
https://littlecms.com/blog/2020/12/09/using-lcms2-on-qt/ that says:

Alpha channels are supported as long as the image is not using premultiplied alpha. To get alpha channel make sure to include cmsFLAGS_COPY_ALPHA in the flags field. This is explained in LittleCMS documentation.

So, try: toDisplay = colorManage(sourceImage, profiles, INTENT_PERCEPTUAL, cmsFLAGS_COPY_ALPHA);*

The most "simple" is to downsample from 10 to 8 bit.

Maybe OpenCV has better support for that kind of format and might be an alternative.

An update on this. It works perfectly and its a very low-cost solution. My processing time remains almost the same (~10mS) using this method since the painter does the scaling for you when it draws.

@Skamath The Halcon example using Qt is very simple but it uses the Halcon Graphics Window to show images, regions and XLDs. If you think that it is complicated I recommend you to use the Halcon Graphics Window instead of trying to build your own Graphics Window based on QGraphicsView.

thank you for the tip, I will try this in another project since I currently have a lot of problems getting qmediaplayer or qcamera working on the RaspberryPi. I wrote my code on amd64 on which everything worked fine but on the actual device (RPi) a LOT of problems came in (qt-gstreamer-v4l2-bcm2835-v4l2,MMAL, w.t.h.) but thats worth another thread.

I'm not completely sure what you mean. If you want to get the current position of the mouse cursor in coordinates relative the widget that displays your image then you can do this:
