I'm starting this post again after comparing Qt 5.5 and Qt 5.6 download pages.
On the Qt 5.5 download page .. http://download.qt.io/development_releases/qt/5.5/5.5.0-rc/
there are (for Linux/Ubuntu)
qt-opensource-linux-x86-android-5.5.0-rc.run
qt-opensource-linux-x86-5.5.0-rc.run
qt-opensource-linux-x64-android-5.5.0-rc.run
qt-opensource-linux-x64-5.5.0-rc.runOn the Qt 5.6 download page .. http://download.qt.io/development_releases/qt/5.6/5.6.0-beta/
there are only ...
qt-opensource-linux-x64-android-5.6.0-beta.run
qt-opensource-linux-x64-5.6.0-beta.run...
Are there no linux-x86 versions of Qt 5.6 to run on older x86 platforms?

Well, you can always compile it yourself. It's also better than getting pre-built binaries.

I'll do that.

Hi,
Out of curiosity, why are you comparing the 5.5 release candidate with the 5.6 beta ?
If you are looking for a 32bit package for Linux there's the 5.5.1 x86 package here.

I was just comparing historical releases with latest 5.6 beta releases to explore why x32 has been dropped. I am already using 5.5.1 x32 on Ubuntu and want to upgrade to 5.6.
However the Qt Creator mailing list (which you pointed me to in another thread .. thank you) answers my question.
