Why do you have to press shift again? (On laptops I'm used to know the numeric keyboard is disabled until NumLock is selected. Once selected, the numeric keyboard behaves like an oridnary numeric keyboard).

ops.....in the debugger picture you wil see a variable called strr , i add the variable to see if it is the treeitem or the tableitem...here is the code it will explain "everyting" @ treeitem->setCheckState(2,Qt::Unchecked); QString strr = treeitem->text(0); if(strr.contains(tableitem->text())) treeitem->setCheckState(2,Qt::Checked); @ if i try this it crashs @ QString str=tableitem->text(); @ if i try this it works @ cout<<tableitem->text().toStdString()<<endl; @ What is the problem?? Maybe it is the Display Role?? or something like else?

Well, as I said, I don't think you can use QSortFilterProxyModel to add an extra row. It is used to sort and filter rows. To add an extra row, I believe you have to subclass QAbstractProxyModel.
As "AcerExtensa" I think you use unicode character set (in latest VC versions this is the default) So you could try something like this: @ #ifdef UNICODE QString convertedStr = QString::fromWCharArray(yourLPTSTR) #else QString convertedStr = QString::fromLocal8Bit(yourLPTSTR) #endif @
and set second param - datasize for your string

You cannot have any GUI elements outside the main thread. If you want to manipulate GUI elements from other threads you either have to use signals and slots or you have to use invokeMethod(Qt::QueuedConnection) to call the slot, for example QTextEdit::setText(), directly. And make sure you've read "Threads, Events and QObjects":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Threads_Events_QObjects.

Have you set Character Set Project Properties? VS Project Property Page -> General -> Character Set. & Vs Property Page -> C/c++ -> Language -> Treat WChar_t As Built in Type should be No.

This is one of the options: @ QScrollBar *sb = textEdit->verticalScrollBar(); sb->setValue(sb->minimum()); @ But I doubt it's the best option. I'm also looking for a similar one, only that I want auto scroll alway on ;).

I think it would be better not to use %1 for this. Qt itself also doesn't (for things like QProgressBar you use %p and the likes). Using numbers is not very readable, using letters a (bit) more so. Also, be careful in your parsing, as the user may want to use a real % sign in the text.
