    I am wondering in 21st century Qt even does not have built-in spell checking functionality, while at now almost all the editors have this possibility for checking spell.

    It is very important while writing codes, naming variables, writing docs and comments to be in right spelling.

    So I searched a lot on the web, but there I did not find something useful to satisfy me this functionality.

    So how to install/enable a spell checker for Qt Creator.

    Thanks!!!

        Hi @BAHRAMUDIN-ADIL,

        I know this one: https://github.com/CJCombrink/SpellChecker-Plugin

        It does, however, not check variable names, as these often are non valid words anyway, like a_long_underscore_name or aCamelCaseName or A_CONSTANT_DEFINITION.

        Regards

        Qt has to stay free or it will die.

          Thanks for the reply! I have tried this but was not working, I extracted the .zip file in both C:\Qt and C:\Qt\5.12.0\msvc2017_64 and restarted Qt Creator, but did not work (the plugin was not loaded)

          And also I think it is a very basic and the same it is a very important functionality for an Editor to have. The best one which I saw is the IntelliJ IDE Spell Checking, very powerful and very helpful. And also IntelliJ IDE has the best suggestion functionality as well, which Qt Creator doesn't. So for me, besides using the IntelliJ IDE, also using Qt Creator is really painful, which they are not comparable with each other.

          Hope Qt make it possible as well in few next updates!!!

            Thanks for the reply! Could you tell exactly where to extract the .zip file, I have extracted in C:\Qt and C:\Qt\5.12.0\msvc2017_64 both not working.

              @BAHRAMUDIN-ADIL

              So did you download from this site: https://github.com/CJCombrink/SpellChecker-Plugin/releases ?

              He explicitely writes the archive must be extracted to the root folder of Qt Creator not Qt. It is probably something like C:\Qt\Tools\QtCreator.

              Also note that the zip file must match the architecture (32 or 64 bit) of your QtCreator version.
