      Hi,
according to http://doc.qt.io/QtForAutomation/qtautomation-install.html the online installer should have an item for installation of "Qt for Automation" and/or "Qt for Device Creation". Unfortunately I cannot find this.

My license is currently not commercial, but the linked page states that "Qt for Automation" is available under GPL3 license.

Any idea what might be wrong?

@Jeff said in How to install "Qt for Automation"?:

the linked page states that "Qt for Automation" is available under GPL3 license.

Huh, I think that's a documentation error. I'm quite sure Qt for Automation is commercial-only... Qt for Device Creation is definitely commercial-only (http://doc.qt.io/QtForDeviceCreation/ ) and Qt for Automation is built on top of that.

Anyway, there's a button at https://www.qt.io/qt-in-automation/ called "Try Qt for Automation". You could try that form and see if a GPLv3 version is available

[EDIT: The documentation isn't wrong, but it is unclear and confusing. --JKSH]

See http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2018-June/032852.html -- "There are no binaries for open source users. However open source users are free to build their own binaries using GPLv3."

The modules that collectively form Qt for Automation are listed at http://doc.qt.io/QtForAutomation/qtautomation-overview.html
