QT creator font rendereing on Linux

I build QT creator 2.5 from sources to use it on centos 5 The font rendering is very uggly en it generates some errors "invalid pixmap"
I tried to build it agains QT4.8.2 and QT 4.7.4 both build from source and both with the same result.
I had an older version of QT creator which was ok.

Any suggestion shat this might be or how to troubleshoot ?
