Hello From Virginia Tech

Hello There.

My name is Sean and I'm a Mechanical Engineering student here at Virginia Tech. I'm currently working on my senior design project that requires us to create a custom gauge cluster (we're modifying our car to display video feeds for rear and side-views instead of using mirrors).

While doing some research, I came across the QT platform. I had never heard of it beforehand; however, it appears to be very capable of helping us achieve our goal of a polished display that can load in under 3-seconds.

While I am new to the platform, I'm doing my best to learn as much as possible. I've been looking around and noticed that there's an example called Neptune; I'm definitely going to be checking this out. I also saw that there is a QT Automotive section and have already subscribed. Outside of these, are there any other sources that you guys can share that would be good for a beginner? My main area of programming knowledge stems from Arduino and C (as well as some python).

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to devnet,

Qt's own documentation is pretty nice and complete. Since you are working in the automotive area, you are likely going to use QtQuick for the GUI of your application thus the qmlbook.org web site is an interesting source of information.

Note that Qt Automotive and the Neptune project aren't common on the forum. I'd recommend the automotive mailing list (you might have already subscribed if I understood correctly). You'll find there the Qt Automotive developers/maintainers (this forum is more user oriented).

can i please know if there are any courses under computer science for QT QML in USA for Masters. i have perceived my Computer Science Engineering in my Bachelors degree.

It's on the other side of the continent, but Stanford does quite a lot with Qt.
UCLA also has some classes with Qt C++.

They are the only ones I am completely certain have Qt in their curriculum right now.
There probably are other universities that use Qt, but I have no idea which ones.

Hello people, i have plans to join virginia tech, could somone recomend me it or i should keep searching others? ! but that's going to happen later because now i have some heart issues and i need to stay at home taking Lipitor. but i am going to come later with some new forces tryin to learn.

This is a Qt oriented forum and is not likely to be linked in any way to 'Viginia Tech'. I would recommend contacting someone over there.
If you have interest in C++ programming with the Qt framework then you are at the right place here.
