Unfortunately, Wave was a great idea with a less than perfect implementation, poor usability and awful integration into existing systems.

Did they really think they can kill e-mail?

Someone should tell them to use Qt all the way so they can have only one source for windows, linux, mac, M900, etc.

[quote author="Alexandra Leisse" date="1278696555"][quote author="Andre" date="1278683054"]Why is it difficult for eastern Europeans to travel to an event like the Qt Dev Days? They are organized in München, Germany, as well as in the States. [/quote]

It can be a terrible hassle to get visa in time. I have written several invitation letters to attendees of developer sprints and - trust me - it's complicated.[/quote]

Ah, ok. I had not realized people were talking Eastern Europe as in that far east. My fault. I usually associate Eastern Europe with countries like Poland, Check Republic, Estonia, Bulgaria... All of those are no longer an issue in terms of travel. But yes, of course there are many more for who visa issues do exist.

    Bonjour lothar

    For no-francophones :

    Hello lothar

Do you know the French community of "Developpez.com":http://www.developpez.net/forums/f376/c-cpp/bibliotheques/qt/?

It's a very active community, where you can discuss, get advice and make your help (if you want). It has also launched several projects around Qt might be interesting you : the translation of documentation and articles from Qt Quarterly and Qt Labs, the translation of Qt Creator, creation a library of expansion of Qt, the Qt development competition, etc.

    Welcome to the Qt community!

AFAIK even Forum Nokia does not entertain such queries. These suggestions will be better suited for end user forum like "this":http://discussions.europe.nokia.com. [/quote]

That's the site I was looking for earlier and couldn't find on the go. Thanks. Closing the thread now.

ForumNokia is exclusively targetting development for Nokia devices. Qt however is neither tied to Nokia devices nor platforms. There certainly is some overlap but it's not the same.

Even someone won't turn on this feature, someone else will do another way :) And that is reason to implement it, I guess.

That sounds (reads?) like a bug. You can file a report "here":http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/.

[quote author="MariusG" date="1276162357"]Forum Nokia is the most active mobile developer community on the web and Qt is definitely a "key part of that":http://developer.nokia.com/Develop/Qt/Tools/, but Qt is more than making apps run on Nokia devices.

Development of Qt began in 1991 and since then we have been nearly everywhere, you'll find Qt users in a vast "variety of industries(Qt in Use)":http://qt.nokia.com/qt-in-use. Check out the blog for more of "Qt in use(http://blog.qt.nokia.com/category/qt-in-use/)":http://blog.qt.nokia.com/category/qt-in-use/.

Qt Developer Network welcomes everyone using Qt (or wants to get started!) and aims to be the place to meet the Qt community and access common Qt resources. Made not just by us (doc, elearning, whitepapers etc.) but anyone who wants to contribute (like forum posts, wiki articles, helpful comments or source code "contributions(http://developer.qt.nokia.com/contribute)":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/contribute)

So the "Qt forums(http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?219-Qt)":http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?219-Qt on Forum Nokia (btw, check out their "new look and structure(http://www.forum.nokia.com/New_Forum_Nokia.xhtml)":http://www.forum.nokia.com/New_Forum_Nokia.xhtml, a solid upgrade!) will stay as is, just like the "Qt forum (http://developer.symbian.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8)":http://developer.symbian.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 at the Symbian Foundation. You will also see a lot of Qt related posts on the "MeeGo forum(http://forum.meego.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3)":http://forum.meego.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3. Or at the "KDE forums(http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=108)":http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=108 of course. And it's all good.

    [/quote]

Its better we have Qt forums at forum.nokia and symbian.org and keep it separate as it is now.

We have just finished licensing the HTML articles from our site to enable others to translate and republish the articles from Qt Quarterly. It looks like you are already following the main conditions of the license for your translations, but you might want to take a look at the legal code:

    "http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/legalcode(http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/legalcode)":http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/legalcode

We recommend that, instead of simply applying the same license to your translations, you use the compatible French language version:

    "http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/deed.fr(http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/deed.fr)":http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/deed.fr

Once again, thank you and the other translators for taking the time to translate the articles. I'll try and let you know when more articles are on the way.

What is the expected output of the above post, because there seem to be some graphical errors.
