Qt positioning on Raspberry Pi 3
-
I am using Qt 5.3.2 and QtCreator on Raspberry Pi 3 (Raspbian / Jessie).
I wanted to use Qt positioning.
It was reasonably obvious that I needed to install libqt5positioning5
How was I supposed to know that I also needed to install qtpositioning5-dev ?
It took me quite a while to find that out.

Hi and welcome to devnet,
Usually when starting to develop on Linux, it's a pretty normal step to first look how development resources are provided on that distribution.
If you take out distributions like Gentoo where everything is built from source, all other distributions provide libraries in one package and the development related files in another to avoid filling non-developer users's hard drive.
Raspbian is a Debian derivative. In Debian development packages ends with
-dev
. One way to find that is to search forQt5 positioning development Debian
