    Hi,
    I downloaded prebuilt Android binaries

    Android for armeabi-v7a (GCC 4.9, Qt 5.8.0)

Qt Creator 4.2.1 (on Windows 10) auto detected this kit.

I installed Android NDK r13b and Apache Ant 1.10.1 and configured Android in QtCreator accordingly.

I configured Qt Example project provided by Qt (calculator) in Qt Creator 4.2.1. I built debug configuration for Android. I clicked launched debug session with my Android mobile phone connected to my PC.

After some time screen on my Android device turned black and then "Failed to contact debugging port" message appeared in Application output console in Qt Creator and debugging session terminated.

    Can you please help?

@MartinD Are "Developer options" and "USB-Debugging" enabled in your phone?

@jsulm Yes. On the same device (devices) we debug applications also with Xamarin.

I have the same issue... everything worked fine with debugging while using 5.7... but upgrading to 5.8, I can no longer debug on Android.

I have the same issue, but everything seemed to work fine until I connected this Android Device the first time as MTP device via USB to this Windows 10 machine.

Since then the debugger is unable to connect and I have also a "Eject MTP" entry in the Safely remove Hardware icon in the taskbar, but I'm always unable to eject it successfully.

I'm pretty sure there is a relationship. Maybe my small observation helps.
