    As of Qt 5.8 it's now possible to select text in a textfield using the android selection handles. (see https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-34867). Unfortunately there are some problems with the selection handles as they sometimes disappear or stay visible although they shouldn't. I already reported those problems, but I am not sure if those bugs will be fixed in the stable release. In case they aren't I wanted to ask if there is a possibility to disable that feature? I really want to use all the great improvements that Qt 5.8 brings (mostly the Quick Controls 2 improvements), but the selection handle problems makes Qt 5.8 a bit useless for me, as it kills the great user experience completely.

    Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the android selection handles somehow?

        @SGaist Thanks for your reply!

        I created three tickets regarding the selection handle problems I experienced during testing:

        https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-57031
        https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-56940

            Well it clearly sounds like a bug. So when reviewed there might come a fix.
            However, there can go a pretty long time for the Devs to catch up so
            nothing will likely happen in the foreseeable future.

            It seems that it can be disabled using native code
            http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22745986/disable-remove-text-select-handle-from-edittext-in-android
            But Its outside my knowlegde if this can be used with Qt on android.

              @mrjj Many thanks, haven't thought about that. I'll give that a try :)
              Thanks!

                @Schluchti
                Just found out that this bug is still not solved in Qt 5.10.1... Why the heck use Qt on Android, if so many basic things like that need to be done natively??
