    Hello All,

I am researching what tech/APIs I will be using for my next project. I know the rendering system of any operating system working with the GUI can cause the frame rate to drop from a camera's 60 FPS. I have a requirement of presenting 60 fps to the screen with a GUI.

As the only SW engineer on the project, another thing to note is that I am hoping to get a software suite that can help me not recreate the wheel on a lot of tasks now and in the future. In playing in the sand with Qt, it does seem to offer a suite that can help speed up my development process.

So back to my question, have others been successful in getting 60 FPS with a Qt control GUI? If yes, then any heads up in issues or API directions would be very appreciated. I am at the ground level and can structure my software in the direction that best accomplishes this goal now rather than later when shifts or hurdles are harder to overcome.

Thank you for your time and have a great day.

    Cheers,
    Pete

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

What should your application do ?

60 FPS is achievable but you also have to take the hardware into account.
