in general you have QtPositioning to acquire position from device sensors (GPS, WiFi, cell data, ...) and QtLocation to show the position on a Map.

But, as @SGaist said, "GPS based application" could be everything.
Could you be more explicit about:

• platforms to support
• functionalities
• constraints

??
