Qt Designer - assign action to widget

Is there any way to assign actions from action editor to any specified widget (not only the menus of a main window). This would be useful when changing the context menu policy of a widget to "ActionsContextMenu".

As far as I know, you can only drag/assign actions to menus and tool bars

Is there already any feature request or any plan this will be supported in any future release?
I think this is a basic feature which should be available because people would expect it to work and it shouldn't be hard to implement.
