Dates for DevDays 2011?
-
A question to the trolls:
Are the dates of the 2011 DevDays already fixed? It would be cool know in order to block the calendar :-)
-
TZhat would be really cool to know now.
-
He-he, I envy you, German guys, QtDD always near for you :)
-
Vass, then you should also be envy to guys from California :)
-
Sick with envy, indeed.
-
There seems a big Nokia Qt team in Germany and Norway Oslo either, How happy they are.
-
This information will be very helpful for marking our Calendars.
Great idea Volker :)
-
So far, I think it have been Monday through Wendsday, and usually second week of October (for München, at least). My guess is October 10 though 12 for 2011, but I don't think dates have been fixed yet.
-
And how is the venue decided. I think it should change every year.
-
Ah... it seems like yesterday I attended Devdays and another one :), well I think it is too early to ask about the date of next year, they have yet not uploaded the whole document/video of this year dev days so atleast i can not think of next year dates as of now.

Why should the venue change every year? From what I understand, there was new venue this year only because last years' venue was getting too small for the event. If the current venue is OK, why move?
-
The DevDays 1 - 6 were at the same Hotel. DevDays 7 was moved, as the Hilton Munich Park was too small, and they said this year, they have place for extension... I don't think they will move. And I also think, the location will be fixed early, as they have to book it and it will not be possible to short before the event.
-
We don't have the date yet, but when we do you will hear it in the Trolltalk newsletter, on twitter, the Facebook group, on LinkedIn, on Xing - in short we will do our best to inform the planet as a whole.
Some ways to stay informed:
Newsletter: http://qt.nokia.com/forms/downloading/newsletter
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/qtbynokia
Twitter: http://twitter.com/qtbynokiaAnd to properly stalk our every move you could add this stream to your RSS reader :)

And here on DevNet too, I hope - hey' it's called Dev Days :-)

Well the current venue might be very good. But if every year its kept at some different country then it would help spread the community. This way atleast I can hope one day it will come to a place nearby and I can attend. I am sure lot of others may be sharing this view.

Here's a hint: http://meego.com/community/blogs/amyleeland/2011/meego-events-2011

Wait a sec, this is not confirmed. I recommend to wait for us to come with dates before you block anything in your calendars.

Of course there is no official announcement - but better block and release than the other way round ;-)
-
I blocked date might become free, but if there is something else, it gets complicated... so I also blocked it :-)
-
I am paying a special attention for October because usually it gets organized during the October.
-
Fine. I just wanted to make sure nobody runs and books flights while they're cheap. :P
-
so you want us to book expensive flights :-)?
-
The dates have been "announced":http://blog.qt.nokia.com/2011/05/04/qt-sdk-1-1-and-qt-4-7-3-libraries-released-qt-developer-days-munich-announced/ (for München):
October 24-26!
Mark it down in your calendars!
-
Very cool - just blocked my calendar :)
Hope to see you guys then!
-
It is great that the dates have been announced. I've never attended Qt Dev Days and I am wondering is it worth to attend?
I know it is too early but is there agenda available? I am particullary interested in mobile development for MeeGo and the Qt port to Android.
10x,
Leon

I found it well worth attending, though I personally liked the '09 edition better than the '10 edition. A program is not available yet. Just save the dates for now, and see if you like the program when it becomes available before you decide to register.

I have been only on '10 and it was prefect. And me and you actually first met there I think?
-
Hey,
I will attend if possible. Up to now, all DevDays I attended (that were all in germany) were well worth attending

I am sorry to admit that I don't quite remember. Did I by any chance discuss the Sql and model/view frameworks with you?

Yes I think we discussed that topic, and I was a little bit drunk :P
-
I've attended DevDays since 2006 - and they all were worth it. I'll be at the 2011 event too. Having seen many of the presentations already, there will be more time for talks with you fellow devs or hanging around at the DevNet corner (which I will expect to be there again - more shiny of course and bigger :-) ).
-
I expect to see a full blown Mad Lab there, of course ;-)

Are they going to have this conference in San Francisco this year too?

At Qt Contributor Summit today Alexandra said that the date for DevDays in SF is not set yet. You will have to wait a bit longer I am afraid.
-
The Developer Days in SF have just been announced:
It will be from 29 November to 1 December 2011.

Hi,
on the DevDays page there is some bug :-)
The Hotel is for DevDays 2011, not 2010 and the price is 139 not 129 (That's what the Hotel told me, as I called them).

Hi Gerolf, thanks for the report, the page has been updated by the DevDays team now :)
