How to use QOpenGLFunctions with QtQuick in Qt 6?

in our project we use QQuickFramebufferObject to render OpenGL contents in a QML UI. In Qt 6 this is no longer working with backends other than OpenGL. What is the best way to use QML on top of content rendered with QOpenGLFunctions in Qt 6?
