multimediawidgets/camera example not working on Android.

Hi, I am still struggling to get a camera working on Android. Do I have an option with C++ or must use Qt Quick?
I am just looking for a plain example where I can grab images from a viewfinder and process them overlaying some simple graphics on the view finder. There seems to be no examples for C++ delivered with Qt. Thanks for any hints. -
