is the msgboard available on the n900? I would like to test it :)
Not yet, unfortunately. I am working on the porting when I have time. I hope I can release it in February/March. I was thinking about to have some closed beta testing, so I will count on you definitely.

I haven't had as much time as I would like to devote to them lately but I always like new ideas.

I have some ideas and I plan to open a suggestion in your bugtracker (I beleive that is good place for it)

I just added it because the QA group refused to add it to extras w/o one.
Most, if not all, feedback I get and discuss on the t.m.o announcement page for it.
Any reason to not use "google maps" in the meanwhile?
On one hand it has licensing and on other hand some historical reasons. I have signed an NDA with Nokia therefore I cannot tell you too much about the background, but I hope in the near future it will change a lot.
You can find some more information "here":http://www.callingallinnovators.com/apps_on_maps_finalists.aspx (I had a website few months ago but I have decided not too keep it due to the uncertainties).
Good application and perfect UI! I really like it!

Yes that would be then offering your software as a service. I am planning on doing so in another project which I have in mind, they would pay your system and get the application for free.
I imagine something on the ovi agreement will try to prevent that... but don't know if they have figured out how yet.
I don't think that Nokia has any constraints on that, I have to check the NDA and FAQ for Publishers.

Of course one could argue that you are selling the "service" (hosting?) and the applications if just "one more" of the clients provided for your service.

Offering software as a service works like this.
You have a service (for example twitter) and you provide the application for mobile device that will communicate through your service that you are providing (for example twitter, you get a mobile app to see tweets, tweet, retweet etc.), you offer the application for free but users must pay in order to use your service (for example if twitter was a paid service, you had to pay twitter but you could download the application for free).
I cannot think right now for any of these types of apps, but if someone can enlighten us here.

I think Nokia does not allow applications distributed via OVI to accept payment from any other channel other than Nokia payment gateways.

I should reread the NDA again :D
