So it is indeed a runtime error, nothing to do with " trying to compile".

Try reading https://forum.qt.io/topic/79887/eglfs-problems-with-qt-5-9, maybe that still applies. Or maybe https://forum.qt.io/topic/118972/qt-on-eglfs-without-window-manager

Process killed by signal@swansorter So, has nothing to do with compilation. The EGL library seems to be incompatible. Search for EGL and emulator extensions to find out what you could do (maybe build a newer EGL library).
You could also try the latest Qt5 version.
