How much in common do you have with freelance web developers?

I've always gotten a lot of good input from Smashing Magazine over the years and once in a while they write rather nice articles on life as an independent worker.

I'm a freelance - also - we developer. I'm working also with freelancer.com and scriptlance.com so it's the first time I see smashing magazine. I take a look only but saved the link in my bookmarks. It seems very interesting, not only to get material but - I think - also to contributre...
