As the question already suggests.

QRegExp shall survive withits own right IMO. However, I expected to find a reference to the newer version QRegularExpression there and I could not find it on the doucmentation page for Qt 5.4.

I thought is was there once before.

In contrary QRegularExpression provides such a link merely for developers used to QRegExp.

I'd say it can be considered a documentation "bug". I think just nobody thought about updating QRegExp doc
