i want to start the screen saver automatically when the application is idle for specified time.
can we use QWSScreensaver class?

I never personally have used that, but from your question and the documentation I would say that it is indeed the class to use.

if you are on embedded linux this is the right class.
If you are on desktop platforms you may try the QtSystems (unreleased Qt module) module's implementation of "QScreenSaver":http://qt.gitorious.org/qt/qtsystems/blobs/dev/src/systeminfo/qscreensaver.h
I don't know how stable it is though. -
