@JonB remember, they don't have to be perfect -- they just have to be better than anything else. According to one of the articles I read, the pre-cesium definition of a second was based on a solar day. When they invented the cesium clock, they found that it's measurement was so close to the previous definition that the error was below any consumable measurement. For some reason, this discussion reminds me of a story my mom told me about when she was in high school. One of the teachers that no one liked wore a shiny round brooch. My mom and her friends would catch the sunlight on their wristwatches, and deflect it toward the brooch so that it would hit the teacher in the eye. I guess this was the sort of thing that teenage girls in parochial schools did for fun in the 1950s....

@SunJun The project structure is up to you. Think about how you can organise your application: which modules you could have, which libraries you could have, ...

@JoeCFD For my part, I also appreciate good integration with current language and library features. But it's not exactly a topic for an exciting roadmap talk.

I think it's better suited for SO style content, where each reply is its own thing. Not here, where it breaks the more loose conversation style of discussion. Not all NodeBB features will fit all of its instances. I don't know if it's configurable, but if enough people don't like it maybe it can be turned off? You have my vote if it mattes :)

@JonB said in Turing machine/Turing complete: Anyway you got Lech Walesa, we got Boris Johnson, how's that fair? Pfft...we got, in succession: Obama Trump Biden care to trade? (didn't think so...)

@AnneRanch said in ...are you sure ?: This is a thing of the past - most deletions are recoverable I, for one, don't use the trash can. And sometimes, especially on Linux, I use the command line instead. None of my deletions are recoverable (unless you mean some special software that digs up my data from the grave in a very tedious and nerve wrecking way). I am not entirely sure, but I believe macOS just puts it in the bin without asking for confirmation. Or maybe hitting OK is so ingrained in me that I don't notice anymore...

@Axel-Spoerl I need a break from coding... I do appreciate your comments. Here are mine. I am of an opinion that most forum frequent participants expect "servant kind of attitude' when one ask for help, hence starting with "sorry (for me bothering you with my post ) ... may work to poster benefits. They acquire what is commonly refer to as " control freak " position - they are the owners of the forum... I see it all the time when posts start with " I am a beginner , so be nice ..." . Folks who start their text that way got such attitude from reading the forum - not from reading the "posting rules" - they got it from real experience. The forum I got kicked off has a very clear "posting rule " to the effect "... this forum is to help coders , not to make them feel stupid ...." unfortunately few "owners " of the forum missed that rule.

@Christian-Ehrlicher You are absolutely correct - it takes few seconds between "Runs" and that definitely screws up the SYSTEM synchronization and catches off guard ( sleeping ?) the usual message " ...your source file is outdated..." . I have not seen that message lately , I suspect such error notification may have be intentionally deleted ...it creates traffic .... PS The (standard ? ) concept of "dirty file " - based on time of file creation has been around since DOS 1.0 it SHOULD work in ANY QT - not just 6.02
