Hi Jon, I too upgraded from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 - the QT Creator version available from apt-get (4.11.0) does not work on Ubuntu 20.04 as there are issues with the semantic checking making the software unusable (upgrading cmake, qmake and gcc) to the latest version does not help [I have verified this over two desktop PCs]. I downloaded the installer for the latest QT creator (4.12.2) given in my above post and that works just fine, absolutely no issues. On the whole I would recommend upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04, it is much faster and there is a range of other performance issues which have been solved specifically to do with gnome, both my computers have seen a wide range of improvements and there has been little/no issues faced due to incompatibility etc (I run an FPGA development environment also). Well, huh. I thought I tried that one with the bigger project before, but it does work with the test program here, so that must have been something else. Thank you for your assistance.

Btw, the application I'm running is an example supplied with Qt and I can see the process running. Setting the "platform" to minimal or offscreen prevents a segfault.

I'm sorry to say but I have used QT visual studio tools for years and It realy sux bigtime, the whole thing should be deprecated. I generated projects with CMake instead and it worked like charm.

I managed to get this resolved by deleting the SDK/NDK install from /Users/[my account]/Library/Application Support, then going back into the Android setup in Qt Creator and setting the Android SDK location editbox to a path of my choosing BEFORE clicking the refresh button. All is well in Qt land for me once again.

It's a third party module so it does not know anything about it currently.

I'm using ryzen too, the ryzen 5 3600, and encounter this issue... I update the latest bios that my computer manufacturer (Lenovo) provided, still the problem exists. However, your post remind me that I can kill the process directly while the error come about, and other parts of Qt seems working properly...amazing! Anyway, much thanks . I will update the bios again when the new version come out.
