QBluetooth chat example not working on android

i am very new to QBluetooth I started by compiling c++ chat example in android platform on my two j1 2016 and j2 phones but the two can not send or receive anything from each other despite being paired .
I even commented this line
//m_discoveryAgent->setUuidFilter(uuid);
please assist.
I am using qt creator 4.5.1 on windows 7 64bit
Android settings are OK. (SDK Version: 25.2.5, NDK Version: 10.4.0)
I have no issues with my android sdk etc
