    Hi, new Qt user here, I'm trying to build a simple GUI that might or might not contain a video player eventually, to do this I'm using PyQt5 and importing QVideoWidget along with other multimedia modules, I wrote a simple script that runs but the problem is that when I try running it on my linux (specifically arch linux) machine I get the error:

    defaultServiceProvider::requestService(): no service found for - "org.qt-project.qt.mediaplayer"

    I have KDE on my system with both vlc and phonon backends installed, searching the internet did not yield a viable solution, and so I'm asking here for help on how to setup this service provider.

      What version of Qt are you using ?
      How did you install Qt ?
      How did you install PyQt5 ?
      What distribution are you using ?

        I'm using Qt 5.10 which I installed using the pacman (the arch linux package manager), I installed PyQt5 with pip and then with pacman, and I'm using arch linux.

          You seem to be mixing several versions here.

          Which exactly are you using ?
