How to set Applications icon in Alt+Tab menu on Ubuntu?

What is responsible for the low-res icon yellow archway icon for a Qt5 application at:
I thought it would've been the
setWindowIcon()call on the applications window, but it does not seem to have any effect. -

That a question better asked to the Ubuntu folks.
IIRC, it's done through a .desktop file.
