I have recently visited the meego project's site and I am a bit of confused about the current situation. As it seems projects will be hosted there in some time in the future and also technical support and community networks could possibly be provided and hosted. Does this sub forum, namely Mobile and Embedded ,acts as some kind of competitor?

    Thanks

First of all, MeeGo is more than Qt and Qt is more than MeeGo. There is obviously some overlap between the two audiences. I don't see any of the sites competing with each other but rather complement the options for developers.

I think this forum will act as a neutral one open to all sort of Qt related discussions. Whereas MeeGo, Maemo or Nokia Forums will be more specific to those platforms.

If you want a mobile Qt app to run on MeeGo & Symbian, then this would be a much better place for discussion than meego.com. :)

Yeap! I suppose this is the correct sense/use for this forum.
Qt also run on other mobile platforms (openmoko for example).

bq. Qt also run on other mobile platforms (openmoko for example).

I followed OpenMoko quite closely for a while but I don't really know what it is any more. There seem to be multiple distros (some with Qt some without), the backing company pulled out and the other main hardware vendor switched to Android.

I really hope all the mobile Linux efforts (presumably Android excepted, although that's not much like a Linux platform anyway) will standardise around MeeGo now it's under the neutral Linux Foundation banner (a very good move I thought). LiMo should be next - perhaps the OpenMoko community could be rallied in that direction too.

It does indeed and it also runs on embedded platforms that are not related to phones at all, like coffee machines and printers. :)
