    Misc info:
    Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
MS Visual Studio Professional 2013 installed

I get the following error during installation:

    alt text

After I close that dialog I get this error:

    alt text

Might I be missing some prereqs etc.? I can provide additional info if needed.

    Thanks

I successfully installed qt-opensource-windows-x86-msvc2013_64-5.6.2.exe so it looks like this is confined to the 5.8.0 installers.

        Any help is greatly appreciated.

@WXB13 Why don't you use the online installer? You can select the Qt versions you want to install there. And you will have the Qt Maintenance Tool then which you can use to add/remove Qt versions and update your installation.

            @jsulm
OK, I'll give that a shot. Do you think it might make a difference with the problem that I'm having? (I guess time will tell)

I'm new to Qt so I'm not up on the pros/cons of the various installation options & related tools. I usually choose an offline installer for whatever software I install (if there's a choice) just in case I need to install when I'm connected to the net.

Anyway, I really appreciate your advice/suggestions.

I got pretty much the same result when I used the online installer. Any other ideas? Might this be something that I should submit an issue on?

@WXB13 Did you remove all Qt installations before using the online installer?
Also: do you have any anti-virus software running? If so try to disable it before installation.

Yeah, I removed any previous install before attempting all of the installs. I just tried it with my anti-virus disabled & it didn't make any difference. I also tried installing a different version with the online installer (I initially had tried 5.8 & I then tried 5.7 to see if it made any difference).

@WXB13 Strange. Never had such an issue. Maybe you should ask on developers mailing list and/or check whether there is already a bug report for this.

@jsulm Are you talking about a mailing list as opposed to a different forum category? If it's a mailing list I'll have to go look for info on it because I'm not familiar with it.

Thanks again for trying to help.

@WXB13 This forum is for people using Qt. It would be probably better to ask Qt developers (especially installer developers).
