Vlc-qt doesn't open localhost streaming

I am using simple-player as an example for streaming my video content. When I open vlc and give the address localhost:10000 video plays. Even when I give the same url localhost:10000 in mozilla firefox, video plays. But when I open the url in the example of vlc-qt player nothing happens. Any suggestions for fixing this?

That's rather a VLC question. You should ask the VLC folks about that behaviour.
