    After months and months of working with QT Creator, compiling that has been compiling fine for months, yields in the following error message...:

    /Volumes/Home/roy/Qt5.7.0/5.7/clang_64/lib/QtCore.framework/Headers/qsystemdetection.h:95: error: 'TargetConditionals.h' file not found
    #  include <TargetConditionals.h>

    What is the next step to solve this?

    Thanks for any pointers/hints,
    Roy

        @SGaist It looks like there was an upgrade. All of a sudden I had to run make as root and had to answer some questions. What should be done next?

          Do a full clean rebuild.

          If that's still not good, you may have to force the macosxsdk to 10.12.

            @SGaist That did not work. How do I force macosxsdk to 10.12?

              Add

              macx {
                  QMAKE_MAC_SDK = macosx10.12
              }

              to your .pro file.

                  You're welcome !

                  You shouldn't need it anymore after the next Qt update.
