Torch and Compass issues on Android

I'm having two separate issues with Qt on Android, reproduced on two phones (Moto G 1st gen and Nexus 5X).
- Torch does not work, I see no errors in the logcat. The camera works fine, so it's definitely not a permissions problem.
- The calibrationLevel property on the Compass object returns 0 continuously. Doing the standard figure-8 calibration procedure does not help.
If anyone has any experience with either of these, I'd really like to hear. Thank you.
