Qt widget application performance on Android devices

Hi all

I made a simple Qt Widgets application to test how it works on Android. The app is pretty simple and was created for test purposes only. I don't care about native Android look and feel because I need custom UI anyway.
I installed it on device and find out that it's terribly slow. I can't scroll list because it's freezed almost all time.
I know that Quick is preffered way to create mobile applications now but does it mean that Qt Widgets completely useless for android development. Why is it so slow?
I feel I missed something fundamental and did it wrong.
My repo is https://github.com/lagner/qwidgetandroidtest . It would be great if somebody can make a quick review of my code and say why the performance is poor.
