API Search tool not working
-
HI, it seems that the search tool on https://doc-snapshots.qt.io/4.8/index.html does not seem to work. After I enter a term, I press enter and all I see is an animation showing it's working, but no results appear. Is this acknowledged?

How about using the new documentation pages here? I don't think there are any new features coming in 4.8 branch so the snapshots page won't have much (if any) new content.

Hi @brownoctober,
If you are using Google Chrome, you can use this to search: https://forum.qt.io/topic/35616/chrome-extension-for-improved-doc-searches

Hi,
@Chris-Kawa is right, there won't be any new features in Qt 4, only patch releases (and probably only one)
-
@Chris-Kawa 404 not found! unfortunately this doesn't work

@tekojo Looks like it could be a configuration problem ?
No, it's done with a map. As the original and new topic numbers differ (import tool did not like deleted topics, as there was nothing to import), the redirect has to be mapped. If all the posts in a topic would be mapped, it would mean mapping every single post from day zero. That isn't realistic. Just mapping the topics is work enough for the server.
As said, originally linking to individual posts wasn't even the intention.

Isn't that answer for another thread ? :)
This one is about the search feature for the Qt 4 documentation -

@JKSH thanks, I'll use this. It seems to search Qt5 by default but it's enough for what I need
You're welcome :) Anyway, click on the icon next to the URL/search bar. That lets you select "Library Version".

This one is about the search feature for the Qt 4 documentationTrue :)
Someone please open a bug on documentation for the search. It seems like the search works, but the auto-fill thing doesn't.
