Pleas Help! Status on QtQuick3D ?

Hello everybody,

I'm looking for information about the current state of 3D functionality in Qt / QtQuick. (in Qt 5.4.1)

I need the 3D functionality for a project to do things like page curl interfaces etc. in QML as shown in the QtQuick3D example:

I must admit that I'm a bit confused as I cannot find any recent information about what to use, Qt3D, QtQuick3D?.
It seems that all the info on the net is somehow deprecated and I fear ending up in a dead end.

Can anybody please point me to the right direction? Is there a plan to integrate something like QtQuick3D in the official Qt build?

Currently Qt3D 2.0 developing in dev branch and I'd say it looks very promising
Release is planned for Qt 5.5
