It used to work fine everywhere but after working with Qt in PyCharm, it seems to be working only in the project directory created by PyCharm, everywhere else I get an import error i.e. "Import error cannot import QtGui" or anything other than QtGui.

I am on a Linux machine, Slackware 14.1

    Thanks.

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

Isn't PyCharm doing some environment setup like changing LD_LIBRARY_PATH to find your Qt installation ?
