      Based on your message:

      @
      QDockWidget *dock = new QDockWidget;
      dock->setWidget(new QLabel("Test1"));
      addDockWidget(Qt::TopDockWidgetArea, dock);
      dock = new QDockWidget;
      dock->setWidget(new QLabel("Test2"));
      addDockWidget(Qt::TopDockWidgetArea, dock);
      dock = new QDockWidget;
      dock->setWidget(new QLabel("Test3"));
      addDockWidget(Qt::LeftDockWidgetArea, dock);
      @

      Should show the docks like you want
