Creator: Whitespace cleanup depending on file extension

I find the automatic whitespace cleanup in Creator extremely useful. (Tools->Options->Text Editor->Behavior->Cleanups Upon Saving->Clean whitespace)
However, there are a few types of text documents that need e.g. the correct number of tabs, even trailing tabs, to work correctly (e.g. tab-separated tables)
Is there a way to enable/disable the automatic whitespace cleanup depending on file type? It would be sufficient if I could enable it for "all source files", and disable it for "all other files".

AFAIK, no there's not, but it might be an interesting feature request for Qt Creator
