Installing QT 4.8 on ububtu

Hi,i have downloaded qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.8.6.tar.gz . Can any one give step by step instructions or a link to install the software.

Are you sure you want to build Qt from sources ? There's a pre-built package for linux

My bad, I didn't realize it was only the sources. That should be mention in the link name.
