What happened? Why the online installer often gets interrupted?
-
I prefer to use online installer named qt-opensource-windows-x86-1.5.0-2-online.exe to install Qt5, because it's possible to install both Andriod and windows development environment at the same time. But when I lanch the online installer, it always gets interrupted, refused or disconnected. I'm sure my internet connection is very steady because I access any other websites very smoothly. Is that because I'm just an open source user? Don't you think open source for Qt5 is a great way to advertise Qt technologies?

Hi and welcome to devnet,
It has nothing to do with the fact that you are an open source user. From time to time it seems that the servers are having some problem. The best thing to do is check one of the mirrors and start downloading from them.

Thanks for your suggestion. Could you please tell me where the mirrors are? How can I find them? It seems there're no any instructions on the Qt project official website.

If you go on the download page and click on the info link of one of the package you'll get a list of mirrors

To add to what SGaist has said, the online installer for Qt 5.3 plans to help users work around this issue by allowing users to select a mirror instead of just using the default one.

OMG, how stupid I am! Why didn't I notice the info link? Thanks SGaist, thanks JKSH.

Don't worry, most people don't notice it ;)
