Where to find silicon MAC Version of open source for QT Designer
-
@Micha-Sett Qt Design Studio or QtDesigner?
QtDesigner is part of QtCreator which can be installed using Qt Online Installer which will install Apple silicon binaries by default. Qt Design Studio can also be installed using Qt Online Installer, so simply use that installer. -
Hi,
I see. Can u give me the download link please? I found something for mac, but it says i should install rosetta first.

hmmm, i think i have a big understand problem: should i download the trial / evaluation version, where i have to fill in account data etc? Will ist also work as a open source version? Thnx in advance.
-
and why wants the installer "rosetta" to be installed. I am confuse, sice i thought, its would be a native mac silicon app?
-
Hi,
The installer itself might be an x86_64 application.
You can use the open source version of Qt. -
Hi,
its even getting more confusing for me. So, i have to install rosetta for the installer only. And WHERE exactly is the open source version for qt. I am banging my head to the wall, i am no troll, only a little stupid...
-
That's the role of the installer: provide you a mean to install Qt and related tools for development.
As for the installer itself, I don't have my machine at hand to check the architecture of the binary.

You should download the installer for open source version. I gave you the link to it.
Installer itself is Intel binary, but it installs Apple Silicon binaries. -

In the link I gave you - just scroll a bit down...
-
So, it's really necessary to install rosetta only for the installer? And there are 2 different versions, one for the licensed and one for the open source? Please forgive me for the stupid questions...
-

Do you mean the installer? There is only one installer. Whether it installs open source version or commercial one depends on your Qt account: if a commercial license is associated with your Qt account then it will install commercial version, else open source one.
Installing x86_64 emulation on a Mac is not a big thing. Hopefully Qt Company will provide Apple Silicon installer soon instead of x86_64.

ahhhhhh, now the fog in my head clears up slowly, Thanks!
